The Vase of Venus was constructed out of coils. I smoothed out every coil and then carved a design on both sides, one being the pentagram and the other being the coffin. The vase was painted entirely with black underglaze in every detail. After that dried, I scraped away the underglaze leaving most of the black underglaze to the design. Finally, the vase was finished in a clear glaze.
